Discovering the Cannabinoid Delta 9

Most people associate the cannabis plant with a sense of euphoric high. This euphoria is caused by Delta 9, a cannabinoid with psychoactive properties that bind with receptors in the brain to create a high. It creates a sense of weightlessness and peace within consumers. And it can be breathed in through vaping and smoking, or consumed through edibles, distillates, or tinctures. It can also have some mild side effects, such as a cloudy head, anxiety, and increased paranoia. These can put a damper on the whole experience for some people.

As far as products go for Delta 9, vaping and smoking creates a slower high that lasts for a short period of time. The other three products vary in strength and length of euphoria. It honestly depends on the person and what kind of high they wish to achieve.

Legality

Unfortunately, Delta 9 is considered illegal in most states and a controlled substance by the DEA. So consuming and storing these products can be considered a felony. In states have legalized cannabis, there is a large amount of tax placed on them. This makes it incredibly expensive for even those who have been prescribed it through medical cannabis programs. Which makes reaching that sense of euphoria difficult to achieve for most consumers. But there has to be a way to reach this high legally, right? Well that’s where Delta 8 THC comes in.

Delta 8

Similar to Delta 9, Delta 8 creates a sense of euphoria in it’s consumers. However, Delta 8 is about half as potent as its cousin. This means that consumers still get a sense of high and euphoria that they are seeking, but in a more controlled way. Delta 8 also doesn’t create any of the negative or unwanted side effects that can come with Delta 9, making the experience overall more enjoyable.

Delta 8 comes in all of the same product types mentioned above and are more readily available for consumers to purchase. Its considered federally legal through the 2018 Farm Bill. That bill says if a product has less than 0.3 percent of Delta 9, then it can be sold on the market. Well, Delta 8 naturally contains less than 0.3 percent of Delta 9, as they are different compounds, so Delta 8 products can be produced, sold, and consumed legally.

However, consumers should be aware, there are some states that consider Delta 8 to be as dangerous as Delta 9. They have laws prohibiting the use and consumption of Delta 8 as well as Delta 9. So, if you are interested in purchasing Delta 8 products, do your research first. Make sure that it’s legal in your state.
