Cannabis Legalization Bill

The legislation follows years of hard work and commitment to a cause. The bill establishes two agencies: The Cannabis Control Board and the Office of Cannabis Management. Both agencies will work together to implement a regulatory framework that covers medical, adult-use, and cannabinoid hemp.

The bill will also expand New York’s existing medical cannabis program. It will provide licensing for cannabis producers, distributors, retailers, and others in the cannabis market.

Finally, the legislation creates a social and economic equity program. That will assist individuals disproportionately impacted by cannabis enforcement in past years.
